Business Background
TCD Parts Inc. is a leading provider of replacement parts and components for large appliances such as commercial dishwashing and laundry machines that are found in restaurants and other commercial establishments. The company has excelled in serving its commercial customer base since 2001. Until recently, TCD Parts was an offline business. Repair firms needing their products would call or email TCD to speak to a sales representative who would quote them pricing for the needed parts.
Business Challenge
The repair firms often contacted TCD from the repair site to provide pricing confirmation to their customers. TCD recognized that they needed to update their order process to keep up with the times. They needed a new pricing and ordering system in which their customers could purchase the parts they needed online in a streamlined eCommerce fashion. The biggest challenge was dealing with customized pricing, as customers had different contractual pricing structures. TCD turned to Xcelacore to create a solution to assist them in achieving their business objectives.
How Xcelacore Solved the Challenge
Xcelacore began this project the same way they approached every new assignment. They did a deep dive into TCD’s business processes to fully understand their business. After meeting with TCD management, the teams collectively decided upon the key requirements for the new site.
- Only approved customers can access the site.
- Customers must be able to find items via search and or product catalog. quickly
- Customers must log in to see customer-specific pricing
- Customers can place orders online via a shopping cart
- Customers are extended terms based on contract
- The site must be responsive to the web, mobile, and tablet devices
- Customers can request a return onsite
To meet the stated requirements, Xcelacore recommended an Adobe Magento platform. They partnered with Streng Agency to help create the desired user interface to provide the envisioned site layout and product imagery from TCD Parts Management. This solution would provide rich eCommerce features and B2B functionality that provide a streamlined customer experience. Clients could now see customized pricing by logging into TCD’s eCommerce site onsite with their customer using their preferred wireless device. Non-registered customers, on the other hand, had no visible access to pricing.
The Results
The result was a hands-off online solution that completely altered how TCD could now service its customers. The Xcelacore team digitally transformed what was formerly an offline business in months.
